Being Your Most Authentic Self
“Authenticity” is all about being real. Genuine, not an imitation.
Have you found yourself truly motivated to do something great? You’ve written down your goals. You have a plan to execute. You say to yourself, on Monday I’m off to the races. Then Monday comes…….crickets. You know why? Because Monday never really comes.
You find yourself watching videos, reading articles, taking notes, checking your emails and you tell yourself you’re not as good as her or you can’t do what she does. So you wait for everything to be exactly right and perfect to the letter, and you realize it’s two years later and you’re still here. It all starts with finding our who you are as an individual, what you want out of life and knowing who you are here to serve. Are you worried about the world, or are you really being you?
Know Your Values
Understand your limitations and stick to what you value as a person. Maybe you have a program you’d like to offer for free to the public as a service in your business. Your coach, your best friend, your accountability partners are telling you it’s not a good idea. In your mind this is all apart of the master plan. Go with what you know. Go with the services of your business. Have you developed ethics in your brand? What are your non-negotiable entities you refuse to get rid of? Stick to your guns!
Listen To Your Heart
Over the years, we make decisions based on our current circumstances. We know from the beginning what the consequences may be, yet we go with what looks good and feels good for the moment. I’m here to tell you, that will get you in trouble every time. Listen to what your first instinct told you when you first came across the problem. Walk in faith knowing that what you do is a direct reflection of you. Holding yourself back from what is right will change the true essence of you and what you stand for. Lead with your heart and not your situations.
Accept Your Challenges
Everything we’ve been through has become a motivational story for others. The hard times, the down moments, and the rough patches in our lives are here to prepare us for all that we ask of ourselves and all that’s in store for us to come. Accepting a challenge for what it is grows an inner strength that we may then be prepare for in later years. When a woman tells me her problems and her situation doesn’t seem positive, I say to her “I feel what you’re saying, I’ve felt how you feel, and this is how I’ve overcome.
Let Go Of The Past
It’s hare to go on with your life if you don’t learn to forgive and move on. Forgiving the past helps you to understand who you truly are because the negative feelings you harbor and the issues you hold on to change you into someone that not authentically you. Listen to the words and the stories you tell. Recognize the situations and people around you. You will begin to draw to you what you truly believe within you. Let Go!! That’s not YOU!
Ignore The Negativity
People who don’t understand you or why you do the things you do will ultimately talk about you in the most negative way imaginable. They ask questions and say things that are hurtful and sometimes painful. But what do you believe? What do you see as important to you? Worrying about the naysayers will keep you stuck in business and everything will stand in your way. Low self-esteem, doubt, over-thinking, and procrastination to name a few.
If you accept the things people say and do in your life you can never authentically know the real you. But once you walk out on faith, and continue walking without looking back at the negativity, the drama, or your circumstances, your life will dramatically change. Push forward, be you. Be your most authentic you. There’s someone out there who truly needs all of you.
